Skin Rejuvenation

Turn Back the Clock with Medical Grade IPL

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a light-based skin treatment for rejuvenating the skin. Also known as a Photo Facial, IPL is adept at treating skin conditions such as fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, acne, rosacea, and prominent facial veins. IPL treatments improve skin texture by stimulating the production of collagen in the skin.

When we are young, our skin possesses collagen in abundance, keeping it smooth, supple and healthy. As we get older, our levels of collagen production begin to decrease creating visible blemishes and signs of ageing.

During your IPL treatment, high energy light waves penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin encouraging the growth of healthy new skin cells. This keeps skin firm and elastic and boosts the skin’s natural ability to produce collagen to repair and protect itself, revealing younger, fresher skin, Intense Pulsed Laser (IPL) is a light-based skin treatment for rejuvenating the skin. Also known as a Photo Facial, IPL is adept at treating skin conditions such as sun damage, pigmentation, wrinkle reduction, rosacea and acne under the careful supervision of your highly trained and experienced IPL Nurse. It is effective on all body parts including face, neck, decolletage and backs of hands.

In just 3-5 sessions IPL Photo rejuvenation improves the appearance of:

Age spots (red/brown pigmentations)

Vascular lesions such as facial telangiectasias (spider veins) and poikiloderma

Acne

Recent studies have shown that even active Acne Vulgaris has responded very well to phototherapy using yellow light.

Rosacea (redness)

Freckles

Sun damage

What makes this system special?

Traditionally most cosmetic procedures have been associated with Lasers. As technology has progressed, research has shown the Intense Pulsed Light units, and in particular Variable Pulsed Lights (VPL) systems, are regularly producing better results than the laser systems originally available. Pulsed Light units are non-laser, emitting light across a broad range of wave lengths that are preferentially absorbed by the appropriate structure in the skin. The Energists VPL system is designed that each light pulse comprises a number of rapid shorter pulses. These ’variable pulses’ ensure more controlled absorption by the appropriate structures whilst minimising heating of the surrounding skin. This light signal is sent to the body’s collagen production system; this then enhances the rate at which the collagen is produced.

How does it work?

Melanin in the skin absorbs the light and begins to break up and fade out. Other various structures can absorb the light and repair the damage caused by ageing and the sun.

What is the treatment procedure?

After a full consultation with a trained therapist, a comprehensive treatment program can be developed to match your needs and requirements. The area to be treated will be prepared and the applicator head will be moved across in steps to ensure complete coverage. Due to the large applicator head treatments can be performed quickly, which we know is important with today’s hectic lifestyle.
